It's been a crazy couple of months, and its only getting crazier. We wanted to make sure that everyone understands that our store is now open for business. Top 5 Reasons why we are running a Kickstarter

5. A new brand's success depends on the support of it's first customers. Kickstarter is a great way to get everyone to team up at once and make something happen quickly.

4. Summer is right around the corner and we wanted to get product out before the end of April. This will give us time to get our line in stores before they choose their own summer layouts.

3. It allows us to release all of our products at once as a complete line, instead of piece by piece. This should help with brand growth.

2. Our Dachshund, Marlee, told us to do it. We listened.

1. We wanted to start 2013 off fresh. Thats why we removed everything from our website. To do that, we needed to come out with a "fresh" new product line that completed the vision we've had for our brand since day 1. With your help we should be able to reach our $5,000 goal. Every dollar will go into the completion of this project. We are trying to build a brand that will provide quality USA made apparel for years to come.

Spring Line, KICKSTARTER and newsletter signup!

Hey everyone!

I know it's been a while so I wanted to give you all an update to whats been going on over here. First of all, Melissa and myself have picked the date for our wedding and have been excited/busy planning that. Now we're getting ready to get 2013 designed and start the manufacturing! We have spent months working on our new products and can't wait to share them with you as we get ready for Summer 13'.

This is where we need your help!!!

Cape Crabbers thus far has been funded with our own hard earned cash. Very soon we will be launching a kickstarter program. For those of you that aren't familiar with kickstarter, its a crowd funding website for projects that range from inventions, productions, and business ventures such as our own.

Now you might be asking "what do I get for helping fund your line?". First of all, you'll be first in line to receive all of our cool new products. There will be various donation levels, each of which will come with different "rewards". Rewards will range from a sticker and a thank you note to a collection of tees and tanks, our entire line, ect. We want to provide value to people who are willing to donate so you expect to get some special deals.

We plan on launching sometime in the next week. When we do launch we will need all of your help to get the word out!

End of Summer Sale

Well here it is folks, the summer has run its course, and we're still here. Even though it is slowly starting to feel like things are coming to a halt here on Cape Cod, we know our journey has just begun. Today, while we were taking our mini dachshund Marlee for a long walk, we were checking out a cool Jeep, when all of the sudden I realized they were sporting one of our bumper stickers on the side window! This was the first time I've seen a bumper sticker on a car (without someone pointing it out first). It was such a refreshing feeling, as well as a reminder of the random joys of this business. In a way it helped me re-focus my efforts.

It's easy to get caught up in the daily craziness that this business has been the past couple months, but we wanted to take a minute and thank everyone. A business cannot exist without the people who support it. Throughout the past few years many of you have watched Cape Crabbers adapt and grow. For those of you who have stood behind our brand since the beginning we are forever indebted to you. To the people who we have met this summer, it is you that have turned this business from a cool idea, to the readily growing brand that we have become.

Nothing is cooler than seeing a complete stranger embrace Cape Crabbers, and it is that feeling of an expanding unity with our customers that makes all of this hard work worth it. I hope that the coming months and years are filled with new friends and continued growth. We are determined to build a new USA Made apparel empire for all of you to enjoy.

Life IS a Vacation & Fathers Day Event in Hyannis

Life is a Vacation, thats our motto. If you can relate, you're on the right track! If you said "Yeah I wish" you're a Cape Crabbers t-shirt away from changing your attitude. When we came up with Cape Crabbers in 2009 the whole idea was to create a positive, stylish, apparel company that had a nautical/beachy theme. At that time we were having a really hard time putting it into words.

In June of 2010 my father passed suddenly. We spent the following weeks sitting around talking about good memories we all had with him. When talking about places we'd LIKE to travel to my dad would often say "Life is a Vacation". Thats just the way he lived his life. While we all enjoyed going to spend time along the shore together, he really just appreciated spending quality time together. "Life is a vacaction"... It just kind of clicked. Ever since, we've been doing our best to live life with the same joy that he filled it with everyday.

This weekend we have our first event of the Summer which just so happens to be on Father's Day weekend. It's kind of bittersweet to think about him not being there as we take our first major steps of taking Cape Crabbers to the next level. At the same time its really cool to continue his legacy with our clothing.

The event is this weekend at Village Green , 367 Main St. in Hyannis.

Taking care of things

The other day I was day dreaming of what it would be like to get a new car. I pictured myself driving my shiny new car down coast line with some of my favorite tunes bumping. I looked at my current car and thought "What happened to us?". This was my dream car a few years ago, the car I begged my parents to co-sign on the loan for me.

I started to think and what I realized is that a new car isn't what I needed. No, the problem was that I had neglected my current vehicle inside and out. It had gotten to the point where I didn't even like to drive it anymore.

It was a nice day out so I decided it was time to give the car the love it deserved. I got a trash can, the vacuum cleaner, a cleaning rag and some wax and went to work. When it was all finished I took a step back and admired my NEW shiny, black, clean car. I couldn't wait to take it for a ride...

The same thing must hold true to less tangible things such as relationships and businesses. This week I'm doing a little experiment. I'm going to take better care of everything from this website, my dog Marlee, my friendships and maybe if I'm feeling real motivated, I'll tackle cleaning my apartment. Try it out for yourself. I guarantee it will give you a more positive outlook on you week.
